Blues & Bourbon Wednesday
"Blues & Bourbon" has been bringing the best in "uptown & lowdown" and we are now beginning our 6th year
(with that 2 year grrr pandemic in between...). I've lined up a Wednesday series of local, regional and national blues artists from SoCal, NorCal, East Coast, West Coast...Delta to Delta and even Spain!
The Starlet was newly remodeled in July with a big stage, new lights, new dance floor, larger capacity and always great professional sound. Such a great vibe on these nights!
High-res images and interview arrangements all available.
Check out this write up about the series in Submerge Magazine:
In the January-February 2021 issue of the Sacramento Blues Society's BLUE NOTES, there is a cover story on Mindy's life as a music promoter. When asked "Can you tell us your favorite story about being a Promoter?" there was only one answer:
This is the story, reprinted in full here with kind permission from Big City Blues Magazine publisher, Robert Whitehall Jr.

Shop the SBS store - lotsa good swag, including this Back in Business! CD, a 16-track CD produced by Mindy Giles and the SBS Events Committee!
"Here's Back in Business!,” featuring 16 of their member bands. You may not have heard of any of them unless you’re out west. But you will. Across the tracks they capture the
very essence of the rhythm that is the blues today. From the throaty pipes of Katie Knipp to the
country pickin Catfish & The Crawdaddies; from Blind Lemon Peel’s full-throttled theatrics to Val Starr’s Blues Rockets get-on-up jam with Victor Wainwright on keys; from James Monroe’s classic rockin’ blues harp to young Kyle Bowland’s Chicago, swamp Texas blues with his pinch- drip harp of West Coast swing – it’s all there."
